Vorteq Sports has launched its range of Human Performance Services, designed with a focus on ‘finding real, measurable performance improvements for every athlete.’
The services available include: bike fitting, aero testing and physiology profiling. Each service is designed with a focus on finding data driven improvements on the bike. All bike fit sessions are led by charted physiotherapist Bianca Broadbent, ‘resulting in an in depth understanding of the human body and its limitations.’
Aero testing and physiology sessions are led by Dr Jamie Pringle who has extensive experience and was previously Head of Science at Boardman Performance, prior to its closure earlier this year.
Incorporated in 2019, Vorteq Sports is the brainchild of British Engineer Rob Lewis OBE. Although best known for his contributions in motorsport and F1, he has extensive sports engineering experience. In 2017, he was awarded an OBE for his contribution to the performance of British athletes’ over three Olympic campaigns.
He was a founding member of the Secret Squirrel Club working alongside Chris Boardman to bring a comprehensive knowledge of aerodynamics to elite cycling.

One of Vorteq’s early adopters, pro rider and aerodynamicist, Dan Bigham, said “Vorteq has supported me with their expertise in research and development for a number of years. The team are focused on a data driven approach to performance and have a world class background in sports engineering. It’s exciting to see the team launch a range of services which cyclists of all abilities will be able to benefit from.”
Vorteq has established its home at Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub just a few hundred metres from the nearby motor racing circuit. The hub boasts its own open jet, open return wind tunnel designed specifically for the sports market.
In addition to Human Performance Services, Vorteq is an innovator in performance cycling clothing. Its skinsuits and overshoes are custom-fitted to exact body geometry, using high definition 3D scanning.
The company adds that its apparel materials have been thoroughly tested and selected based on years of research and development around fabric properties and their impact on aerodynamics in sport.
