Mike Reilly, ‘the Voice of IRONMAN’, announced his 200th IRONMAN event at the 2021 SelectBlinds IRONMAN Arizona triathlon.
Mike Reilly is a renowned race announcer, commentator, author, IRONMAN and USA Triathlon Hall of Famer, and member of the Running USA Hall of Champions.
Since Reilly’s announcing career began with IRONMAN, hundreds of thousands of athletes who have completed one of the world’s toughest single-day endurance events have heard Reilly welcome them to the finish line with the iconic phrase, “You Are an IRONMAN!”
In a release, IRONMAN noted that the Valley of the Sun in Arizona provided a warm welcome for athletes competing at the 2021 SelectBlinds IRONMAN Arizona triathlon on Sunday, November 21.
Following a late cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic, IRONMAN reported ‘over 2,000 athletes competing in the event’ on Sunday. The race was won by Jan Stepinski (Palo Alto, CA) from the M30-34 age group and Fabia Maramotti (New York, NY) from the F25-29 age group. They took the top honours with finish times of 8:23:30 and 9:57:34, respectively.
