Scheduled to take place on November 7, Challenge Cape Town has announced a partnership with Blu Smooth Wetsuits as the event’s official wetsuit partner.
Blu Smooth, a South African company, has expanded in the open water swimming scene since the company’s founder, Kevin Richards returned back to the Rainbow Nation after travelling and competing on the international triathlon circuit.
‘Kevin Richards worked in the wetsuit industry abroad, spending huge amounts of time immersed in the latest wetsuit developments. Harnessing his vast experience and knowledge he turned his attention and focus into developing Blu Smooth Wetsuits.’
With products that aim to be uncomplicated in design, and utilising premium wetsuit fabrics, Blu Smooth’s mission is to deliver quality and value to its growing following.

Blu Smooth and Challenge Cape Town are looking to come together in the next few months to host some open water swims, as well as beach clean ups. This focuses on a key aspect of the partnership in protecting the South African shoreline from pollution.
