Cologne-based running shoe start-up True Motion is now entering the UK market with its ‘dream of the perfect running shoe and pain-free joy in running.’
Following the launch of the True Motion run shoe brand in German-speaking countries and first steps taken in Benelux, an expansion into Great Britain and Northern Ireland is next.
Company founders, Andre Kriwet, Prof Dr Gert-Peter Brüggemann and Christian Arens, have a mission: to build the best running shoe on this planet. They have focused their efforts on an optimal and pain-free running experience for runners… ‘not on cost reduction and margin optimization.’
The company reports that over 75,000 running enthusiasts are already benefiting from this ‘unique running experience’.
Kriwet and Brüggemann are certainly not rookies in the running market. In past decades, they have been involved in the production of numerous running shoe innovations for Nike, Brooks, and Asics, among others.
The company is heading into the UK market with two experienced industry insiders, Hamish Stewart (Country Manager) and Richard Outterside (Account Manager UK).
Hamish Stewart worked for Brooks in Seattle for more than 20 years, managing the international business. In the early 2000s, he was responsible for building Brooks‘ European business. In 2014, he returned to Europe to help move the European headquarters to Amsterdam and restructure the territories into regions.
Richard Outterside is also a professional in the running shoe industry. He spent his early years at Brooks and then had a 25-year career at Saucony (most recently as Country Manager for Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
