The latest endurance.biz ‘inside the news’ interview is with Bill Christy, CEO of CLASH. The discussion with Bill covered a number of areas from the formation of CLASH, its name & ethos, through to the decision making leading to the parting of ways with Challenge Family.
As Bill points out, the former Challenge North America business (now CLASH) was always a separate entity from European-based Challenge Family, and the relationship between the two event organising firms remains strong.
Bill gave some background to the CLASH event brand’s planned expansion in 2022 – in Watkins Glen, in NY State’s wine country, and Atlanta, Georgia. Discussion also turned to the role of TV, the importance of supporting pro athletes as well as age groupers at events, and the future for an evolving endurance sport marketplace in North America.
