Jeff Booher, Founder & CEO at Predictive Fitness, gave his insights into the world of algorithms and predicting athlete performances in our latest ‘inside the news’ discussion.
Predictive Fitness has three main product offerings: (1) TriDot, a coaching platform that delivers optimized training for athletes; (2) RaceX, a predictive race tool; and (3) RemoteRacing, a racing platform that aims to normalize race courses to create a level playing field for athletes.
RemoteRacing is being utilised this November at the inaugural USA Triathlon Remote National Championships. This allows athletes to race via the RemoteRacing platform from their remote location. RemoteRacing results will be ‘localized’ to the course of the 2021 Toyota USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in Milwaukee.
Finish times for all athletes will be as if everyone was competing on the same course, in the same climate, on the same day. Also provided will be ‘equalized’ results accounting for both gender and age to aim to create a fair and level playing field.
Jeff explained how Predictive Fitness technologies are used, and how the RemoteRacing platform can sit alongside real-world events – providing racing opportunities for those who are unable to travel on race day. The discussion also covered the challenges faced by the industry post-pandemic, the role of virtual events and the use of data to improve athlete performances.
