The IRONMAN Foundation has announced the appointment of Audra Tassone-Indeck to serve as the organisation’s Executive Director. In addition, Johnny O’Brien has been confirmed as a new Board of Directors member.
Audra Tassone-Indeck has a long history in the event industry and IRONMAN triathlons in particular. She first joined The IRONMAN Group in 2009 following the acquisition of EndorFun Sports, an event production company which she had a role in developing.
She has since worked her way up through the ranks with The IRONMAN Group and ‘played an integral role in the growth and expansion of the IRONMAN brand.’ The IRONMAN Foundation adds that ‘She has touched all aspects of the North American business unit, serving as a Race Director, Operations Manager, and Regional Director and was instrumental in the creation and execution of many key events within the portfolio.’
In December 2020, Tassone-Indeck transitioned from her role with The IRONMAN Group to serve as Interim Executive Director of the IRONMAN Foundation. In her new role, Tassone-Indeck will oversee the day-to-day operations and all aspects of the IRONMAN Foundation, focused on the organisations’s core mission to create positive, tangible change in race communities.

Johnny O’Brien will join the IRONMAN Foundation Board of Directors after years of involvement with The IRONMAN Group. He has been an avid triathlete for over 20 years, competing in more than 100 IRONMAN events, including 10 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships and one trip to the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona.
He has supported IRONMAN and the IRONMAN Foundation in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was the city’s ambassador during the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in 2017.
