Triathlons fans can put 09:00 CEST on Sunday 29 August in their diary as Challenge Family’s The Championship takes to Facebook Live, broadcasting the battle between many of the world’s top athletes for a place on the podium.
Viewers will watch all the action as it plays out across the men’s and women’s field at the x-bionic sphere sports resort in Samorin, Slovakia. Commentary is by Belinda Granger and Dylan McNeice, themselves no strangers to the podium during their triathlon careers.
With over 50 pro athletes on the start line, key contenders in the men’s field include Andreas Dreitz (GER), qualifying with his first place at DATEV Challenge Roth, Frederik Funk (GER), current European Triathlon Middle Distance Champion after his win at Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee and Thomas Steger (GER), whose win at Challenge Riccione secured his place at The Championship.
The women’s race includes Lisa Norden (SWE) a late addition to the start line, qualifying off the back of her third places in Challenge Daytona and ANFI Challenge Mogán-Gran Canaria. She joins Sarissa de Vries (NED), who took first at Challenge Gdańsk and Challenge Riccione and second at ANFI Challenge Mogán-Grancanaria, and Lucy Hall (GBR), second at Challenge Gdańsk.
The five-hour plus broadcast is presented by O2 Production, and is accessed through Facebook Live (at https://fb.me/e/645Agw8qL) starting at 08:50 CEST on Sunday 29 August with the men’s race start at 09:00 CEST and the women’s race start at 09:10 CEST.
