This August, Gothenburg, the second-largest city in Sweden, will provide the latest destination venue for ÖTILLÖ Swimrun.
ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Gothenburg is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 7th. The event day will include three race distances catering for the whole spectra of swimrunners… ‘from beginners to the absolute best in the world.’
The Experience is 7.5km, the Sprint is 19km and the World Series race is 35km. In the World Series the top two teams in each category (men, women & mixed), that do not already have a spot, will qualify to the 15th ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship in the Stockholm Archipelago on September 6th.
ÖTILLÖ adds that this new race in Gothenburg will be a yearly event.
‘The Southern Archipelago of Styrsö, Vrångö, Donsö, Brännö and Köpstadsö is a mere 15 minutes from the mainland and part of the City of Gothenburg. It has a history since the stone age and a geography that is spectacular. Beautiful granite islands, small, year-round hamlets and a vibrant summer community.’

ÖTILLÖ Swimrun has taken over a race in Gothenburg that was popular during 2012-2019 called Öloppet. The ÖTILLÖ team will work with some of the former race directors to continue their tradition and to work on expanding the new ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Gothenburg.
