After a challenging year for all event organisers worldwide, it’s encouraging to see the green shoots of recovery. In the UK, the organising teams at OSB Events and the Bowood House Triathlon have formed a partnership to promote each other’s events at Bowood Estate in Wiltshire.
OSB Events was due to take its newest Outlaw Triathlon Series event to the estate in 2020, but COVID put paid to that plan. The first Outlaw Half Bowood will now instead run at the venue on September 12, 2021.
The Bowood House Triathlon, which coves sprint and super sprint distances as well as kids’ events, was also unable to take place last year. It is scheduled for June 26-27 this year, having first launched in 2013.
By working together, the two award-winning event organisers hope to put Bowood Estate on the map as a high-quality triathlon venue.
Outlaw Triathlon Series Event Director, Iain Hamilton said “We were really looking forward to launching Outlaw Half Bowood as our newest event last year, but that wasn’t to be. The opportunity to work in partnership makes sense to help overcome a challenging year and re-establish consumer confidence and excitement about events.”
Bowood Estate features a private Georgian House sitting amongst scenery offering far reaching views across the ‘Capability’ Brown landscape. Hamilton added “It’s an incredible venue. Not only the gardens but also the lake; it’s really ideal for triathlon. It’s also very accessible being just a few miles off the M4 motorway near Calne.”
Bowood House Triathlon Director, Giles Hancock said “It’s been a tough year for all organisers, so creating this partnership with OSB was an obvious decision. Bowood as a venue is an amazing place, the house, grounds and gardens are a perfect setting for triathlons.
“We can’t wait to get Bowood House Triathlon started this year and are confident all triathletes will feel safe and excited in equal measure.”
