Roll-out of 2022 SCOTT Road Bikes

SCOTT has released the 2022 flagship models of its lightweight and aero racing bikes, the Addict RC and Foil.

2022 Addict RC
Positioned as a lightweight climber that benefits from an aero design, this is the bike of choice for SCOTT’s WorldTour partner, Team DSM. Since first coming to market in 2008, it has featured across a number of podiums at the highest level.

SCOTT notes that the advanced moulding structure employed means that the brand is able to reduce the bonding joints to a minimum. This leaves not a single bit of unintended carbon inside the frame, resulting in a lightweight frameset.

Upfront, the Syncros Creston IC Combo or Creston IC Bar + Stem allow for integrated cable routing throughout the bike range. The now patented ‘Eccentric Bicycle Fork Shaft’ innovation has the rotational axis at the upper head set bearing with an offset of 3mm towards the rotational axis at the lower head set bearing.

This combination of a 3mm offset 1 1/4″ fork steerer shaft inside a 1.5” top bearing provides space in front of the steerer to guide both mechanical and electronic shifting wires as well as both hydraulic hoses internally.

Besides looking clean, the integrated cables provide an aero advantage by improving the air flow. Developed alongside SCOTT/Synchros ergonomics partner GebioMized, the bar is designed for a smooth, comfortable ride.

The Addict RC features a layering of ultra-high modulus carbon fibres along the ‘stiffness backbone’ of the bike resulting in a notably stiff bottom bracket. This delivers a claimed increase of 14.5% compared to the previous Addict RC.

Combined with the advanced moulding structure that reduces the number of bonding joints to a minimum and an ultra-lightweight seat clamp, this adds up to a size medium Addict RC Ultimate coming in at just 6.9 kg.

SCOTT’s patented airfoil design has been applied to the Addict’s main tubes (down tube, head tube, seat tube, seat post, seat stays) with the goal of optimizing the airflow and reducing the overall drag. The lowered seat stays decrease the gap behind the seat tube and the seat stays avoiding air stagnation and consequently drag. Integrated cable routing also improves the airflow in the front.

2022 Foil
The Foil has claimed 33 Grand Tour stage wins, four Monuments and one UCI Elite world title.

Thanks to the Syncros Creston iC SL Carbon combo, all models of the Foil now feature fully integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronic shifting. Working with internationally partner GebioMized, a V-shape front end has allowed SCOTT to drop the weight and optimize stiffness, and even allows the company to get more aero by tucking its new computer integration into the gap.

The core of the SCOTT Foil’s aerodynamic construction is still its patented airfoil design. The seat post is integrated and provides a neat transition between seat tube and seat post to maximise aerodynamic efficiency.

The low seat stay attachment combined with its thin shape leads to a smooth riding experience even on rough roads. The head tube features an aero profile.

The SCOTT FOIL RC 10 has fully integrated cable routing thanks to the Syncros Creston iC SL and featuring the brand-new Shimano ULTEGRA R8100 Di2 groupset. Rounded out with Syncros carbon wheels and a Syncros Belcarra saddle developed in conjunction with world renowned bike fit company Gebiomized – the FOIL RC 10 is billed as a race-ready machine.
