ROUVY partners with growB Sports to boost activities in Japan

ROUVY has signed a partnership agreement with growB Sports (Globe Sports Communications) to boost its activities and grow its online training & racing community in Japan.

growB Sports, headquartered in Tokyo, has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with ROUVY owner VirtualTraining s.r.o. in the Czech Republic. The agreement will see the creation of new courses and run events for the virtual platform.

‘growB Sports will ensure an accelerated course production and aid the local event management for ROUVY.’

“The most amazing feature of ROUVY is that it can provide a live-action virtual sports experience,” said Yasuro Miyata at growB Sports.

“It gives Japanese athletes a real impression of being there and it will be possible to disseminate the real charm of Japanese landscapes to the world. By producing many courses unique to Japan with ROUVY, we aim to make people all over the world feel the charm of virtual sports and Japan.”

ROUVY users from all over the world are able to ride together through avatars on real courses online. The platform overlays 3D objects within 2D geo-synced video. Courses are ridden by professional and amateur cyclists alike.

Users are able to participate not only in competitions, but can also enjoy virtual group rides and group runs in a social, non-competitive format.
