Global running brand Saucony has announced a new partnership agreement with GoodGym as part of its Run For Good community initiative.
Formed in the UK in 2008, GoodGym is a community of runners that combine getting fit with doing good. During GoodGym activities, runners stop off on their runs to do physical tasks for community organisations and to support the isolated older generation with social visits and one-off tasks they can’t do on their own.
The GoodGym charitable initiatives are activated via a range of different formats including group runs, missions and coach runs.
The new partnership strengthens Saucony’s Run for Good initiative, which encourages runners to go beyond exercising for personal gains.
Over an initial two-year term, the partnership will see Saucony become the exclusive running footwear and apparel partner for GoodGym. It will also look to boost the organisation’s charitable work by creating content to illustrate GoodGym’s endeavours as well as supporting the organisation’s quest to increase the number of towns and cities it is involved in.
Through its range of coaching and athlete ambassadors from across the running community, Saucony will also provide product and performance training advice to GoodGym Area Activators.
Saucony’s Run for Good ethos has been divided into Run For Good Performance, Health and Community, with the GoodGym partnership representing a key part of the community focus.
Gareth Lloyd, Marketing Manager for Saucony UK & Ireland said “We are delighted to be able to announce the partnership with GoodGym. We feel that the organisation’s desire to do good through exercise offers the perfect synergy with our RunForGood ethos. We cannot wait to start working together and to support their vital charity initiatives.”
Ivo Gormley, CEO at GoodGym, said “We’re extremely excited to announce our new partnership with Saucony. Saucony want to make the world a better place through the transformative power of running and this is what we’re about too.
“Together, we can enable more people to experience the powerful positive impact of running and of doing good for those around you. We’re looking forward to working closely with them over the coming years.”
