Two years, five months and 29 days later, the Mallorca 312 (Milestone Series) is making a return. The pandemic prevented the event from taking place during 2020 and then its scheduled date during April 2021.
However, the organising team at Milestone Series cite the ‘rapid pace of the vaccines and favourable forecasts for October [that] allow the event to be organized while maintaining quality standards.’
Sponsored by Supersapiens, the Milestone Series event is set to take place in Mallorca, Spain, on October 24th.
‘The organization decided to delay registrations until it was certain that the event could take place. In addition, it has been in constant contact with the administrations and health institutions, who now convey good expectations for the celebration of sporting events this autumn/fall thanks to the progress and effectiveness of vaccinations.
‘This event will take place in compliance with sanitary measures created to preserve the safety of the participants and the people of Mallorca. And, although the situation is developing in a positive manner, the organization continues to monitor the evolution of the situation to make any necessary decisions.’
Event registrations in previous editions reportedly sold out in a few hours. They will go on sale on Tuesday August 10th. The format of the cycling event will be the same as previous editions: three routes (312km, 225km and 167km), with refreshment stations, a jersey and a ‘great cycling atmosphere’.
The event is also sponsored by Agencia de Estrategia Turística de las Islas Baleares y la Fundació Mallorca Turisme.
