A strong field of pro athletes is getting set for Challenge Peguera-Mallorca, which is scheduled for 16 October on the Spanish island.
Among the women, most eyes are on two Swiss and two British athletes. Representing Switzerland is Nicola Spirig, who won ANFI Challenge Mogán–Gran Canaria and the European Championship at Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee earlier this season. In addition, she also took part in her fifth Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Spirig’s Swiss compatriot Imogen Simmonds will add to the competition, alongside Jodie Stimpson (GBR), who won Challenge Daytona late last year. Fellow Brit, Lucy Hall, will be another rival as she aims to continue her podium streak (third at Challenge Salou, first at Challenge Budva-Montenegro). Other female contenders include Manon Genêt (FRA), Marta Bernardi (ITA), Alexandra Tondeur (BEL), Lena Berlinger (DEU) and Margie Santimaria (ITA).
In the men’s race, a battle is expected between Magnus Ditlev (DEN), Frederic Funk (DEU), Kyle Smith (NZL), Maurice Clavel (DEU), Thomas Davis (GBR), Ruedi Wild (SUI) and Collin Chartier (USA).
The event starts this Saturday 16 October at 09:00 CEST. Fans can watch the free livestream at www.challenge-family.live and follow the race ticker on Twitter @ChallengeFamily.
