2022 British Cycling National Track Championships rescheduled

Covid-19 is continuing to cause challenges to events in the UK. Following discussions with event stakeholders in Wales regarding current Covid-19 restrictions introduced by the Welsh Government, the decision has been taken to reschedule the 2022 British Cycling National Track Championships in Newport, which was due to take place from 27-30 January.

In a release, British Cycling notes that it… ‘understands that this news will be disappointing for riders, the current restrictions – which are now expected to remain in place for the foreseeable future – mean that delivering the event would have required strict controls on rider movements and significant changes to the event schedule, severely diminishing the event experience for all.’

Thanks to the support of event stakeholders, the national governing body has been able to quickly confirm a rescheduled date of Thursday 3 March to Sunday 6 March 2022, with further details to be announced in due course.

The entry window for riders will also now be re-opened, to enable those who were unavailable for the January date to participate in the rescheduled event. Any questions regarding the event should be directed to track[at]britishcycling.org.uk.
