The World Triathlon Championship Finals arrive in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island from November 23-26, 2022. Billed as the crown jewel of World Triathlon’s annual calendar, the multi day event will stage the Elite, U23, Para and Age-Group World Triathlon Championships.
Yas Bay Race Village opens on Wednesday, November 23rd, with the expo, age-group world championship registration, para triathlon and elite athlete course familiarizations as well as the parade of nations and opening ceremony.
Nearly 500 age-group triathletes will contest in the 2022 World Triathlon Age-Group Super Sprint World Championships, with nearly 1,000 triathletes in the 2022 World Triathlon Age-Group Standard Distance World Championships and over 200 athletes in the 2022 World Triathlon Age-Group Aquabike World Championships.
The World Triathlon Para Championships and World Triathlon Age-Group Super-Sprint Championships will take place in Yas Bay Race Village on Thursday, November 24th. Para races start from 08:00 local time and Age-Group races get under way from 12:45. The medal ceremonies start from 16:45 local time.
Friday will stage the U23 Championships; and at 13:00 the Elite women will battle for world titles in the 2022 World Triathlon Championship Finals. Medal ceremonies will take place after each race across the day and the Elite women’s world title will be presented from 15:15.
Saturday will host the Open Para Triathlon Mixed Relay from 07:15. Right after that, the Age-Group World Championships and the Aquabike Age-Group World Championships will start. And the Elite men will line up for the Championship Finals from 15:00 local time.
World Triathlon Executive Board, committees and commissions will meet during the week while delegates are in the UAE for the finals.
Alongside the world championship races, there will also be community races for triathletes of all ages and abilities – including a Kids and Junior Event from 16:00 local time on Friday and Community Age-Group races from 10:00 on Saturday.
