Cal Tri Events has announced a goal to raise US$100,000 on behalf of its athlete community for Habitat for Humanity International during the 2022 race season.
Cal Tri Events has selected Habitat for Humanity International as a beneficiary of the 2022 Cal Tri Events Race Series. During registration, race participants will be able to support Habitat’s work by making a donation.
Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 and has grown to become a leading global non-profit working in local communities across all 50 US states and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home.
Habitat homeowners help to build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, the organisation helps to build better lives.
More than 10,000 Cal Tri Events registered athletes will have the opportunity to support Habitat’s work by donating or fundraising through the RunSignUp platform throughout the race season, which lasts through December 31, 2022.
“We are pleased to be selected as a Cal Tri Event fundraising beneficiary this year and are grateful for both the organization and the athletes’ support of our mission to create a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to call home,” said Julie Laird Davis, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Cause Marketing at Habitat for Humanity International.
Thom Richmond, founder of California Triathlon and Cal Tri Events, said “Cal Tri Events is excited to support Habitat for Humanity International in its efforts to bring strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter to families and communities around the world.”
