CBC Sports in Canada is latest broadcaster to tie-up with PTO Tour

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and CBC Sports have confirmed that Canada’s Olympic Network will provide extensive coverage of all PTO Tour events in 2022. The footage will be broadcast live and free-to-all via CBC Sports digital platforms: CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca, and the CBC Sports app for iOS & Android devices.

Starting with the first-ever PTO Canadian Open in Edmonton, Canada – which will be featured as part of CBC Sports’ weekend programming on CBC TV – CBC Sports coverage will also include:

  • The PTO Canadian Open, Edmonton, AB, Canada (July 23-24)
  • The second edition of the Collins Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia (August 20)
  • The PTO US Open in Dallas, Texas, US (September 17-18)
  • Preview shows and highlights packages before/after each PTO Tour event

Commenting on the deal, Tim Godfrey, PTO Chief Marketing Officer, said “The new PTO Tour is all about putting the amazing exploits and compelling stories of the world’s best triathletes onto the screens of more sports fans around the world.

“We can’t wait to get things under way in Edmonton, which is why this deal with CBC Sports to show our first-ever PTO Canadian Open live across channels is so important.”

In 2023 and 2024, the PTO Tour plans to expand with the PTO European Open and the PTO Asian Open, alongside the US and Canadian equivalents and the Collins Cup.
