361° Europe has added ‘Belgian Hammer’ and rising star, Valerie Barthelemy, to an already impressive roster of 361° sponsored pro athletes and ambassadors, which includes previous World Champion triathlete Katie Zaferes.
The partnership with Valerie Barthelemy will see the Belgian short course triathlon specialist supported throughout her training and racing by a wide range of shoes and clothing from 361°. She will run in the Fierce 2 and Kairos shoes for training runs.
All racing will be done in the carbon-plated Flame trainer, as worn by Katie Zaferes in her third place finish at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020.
Barthelemy competes regularly on the World Triathlon Championship Series, World Cup, and Super League circuits around the globe. She represented Belgium at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in both the Elite Women event and as part of the mixed relay squad which came 5th.
Barthelemy’s performance in the individual event in the Olympics saw her finish 10th overall.
Bryce Sage, Marketing Manager at 361° Europe, said “We’re so proud to be working with Valerie after an incredible 2021 season, where she showed the world her talent.
“With a pair of Flames on her feet we’re sure she can set the race circuit alight! We’re also excited about working closely with her throughout the journey towards Paris 2024 to gain her valuable perspective on upcoming shoe releases and fine-tune our shoes to be the best they can be.”
Valerie Barthelemy said “I’m really excited to be joining forces with 361° in the coming few years. I’ve always wanted to be a part of a brand I can make an impact alongside, and I’ve found that in 361°. There’s a lot of amazing stuff going on with 361° behind the scenes and I’m stoked to be a part of it.”
