Originally announced in early February 2020, but postponed in 2021 due to the pandemic, Challenge Family was finally able to go ahead with its new race in Sweden, Challenge Vansbro.
This middle distance race is the result of a partnership with open water swimming competition Vansbrosimningen and the Vansbro Triathlon. The first edition of Challenge Vansbro took place on July 3, 2022.

The race saw a tight battle in the women’s field between Sara Svensk and India Lee. India Lee took first place, after a solid swim and bike ride, and Sara Svensk took second place after a hard chase. Jenny Nae from Sweden rounded out the podium.
In the men’s field young debutant Gabriel Sandor, who’s main goal is the Olympics in Paris 2024, gave the more experienced long-distance triathletes a battle. Strongest on the day was the Swedish elite athlete Jesper Svensson. Ognjen Stojanovic finished second after a strong run. Gabriel Sandor finished third after a bit of a cramp on the bike.
