Kempton Park Running Festival ‘off to the races’

A new event at Kempton Park Racecourse grounds in South West London, UK, is set to take place across the weekend of 28-29 May. The teams behind Quicksilver Running and Richmond RUNFEST are collaborating to put on this new event weekend.

The Kempton Park Running Festival will consist of a 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon at the racecourse. All distances are officially measured and are fully road closed, with ample parking spaces for ‘horse and cart’ and good links to central London.

Race Director Tom Bedford said “The event is a collaboration of the teams behind Richmond RUNFEST and the Hampton Court Half Marathon who tested a socially distanced event at the same venue in 2021.

“It went so well we have decided to improve the event further by taking in the amazing grandstands and significantly reducing the amount of laps.”

Peter Wedderburn, founder at Quicksilver Running, said “All races start and finish outside the famous racecourse finish line grandstand so the music and atmosphere will be electric down the ‘home stretch’. The brand new reduced lap course will deliver fast times and a fun event against a scenic backdrop.”
