A new team has launched in the sport of triathlon made up of ‘some of the best age-group athletes the sport has seen.’
Many of the athletes on the new Octagon Elite Team have previously made an impact within some of the most well-known teams in the sport, such as the Timex Multisport Team and Suunto Elite Team.
This year, Trista Francis, who has been a part of the team dynamic for over a decade as an athlete, is stepping up as owner & manager of the Octagon Elite Team, kicking off with an inaugural team camp.
Octagon Elite Team is supported by sponsor brands such as: Real Endurance Apparel, InsideTracker, OOFOS, Enve Composites, Zone3, Nuun, PowerBar, Zealios, Boco Gear and Stages Cycling.
“The octagon symbolizes rebirth, and the spirit here at camp definitely highlights the rebirth of a team that consists of some of the most genuine people in the sport,” said Trista Francis.
“Every single athlete not only trains and races at their best, but puts their best into their careers, families, and teammates. Our mission is to make this sport more approachable as a team of athletes who are on race podiums across the country and as podiums of support in their communities.”

The team’s camp is a time for the athletes to gather and renew old friendships, start new ones, become educated on the sponsors supporting the team, and of course, train together.
“It is a phenomenal experience to be a part of a group which was assembled from athletes coming from all over the nation of different ages and backgrounds,” said team athlete Roger Thompson Spokane. “And yet when we all came together, it felt like family.”
Another athlete, Molly Smith said “It’s an honour to be part of a team that represents such a tradition of excellence. Training and competing alongside some of the most dedicated athletes in our sport is both inspiring and motivating.”
