As part of an ongoing partnership, MAAP and The Cycling Podcast (TCP) are collaborating to create a new ‘team jersey’ for the popular cycling podcast show.
Three possible designs, ‘The Check’, ‘The Dot’, and ‘The Fade’, will be presented for fans of TCP to vote on their favourite, with the winning jersey going into production for an autumn/fall 2022 release with accompanying accessories.
Launched one by one throughout TCP’s podcasting from the first weekend of the Tour de France, at the Grand Départ in Denmark, each jersey design is distinct from the next. While all three are inspired by a different pioneering era of the sport, MAAP notes that the jerseys echo not just the icons of pro cycling, but the history of kit design, from simple woollen construction to printed gradient fades.
MAAP adds that these are not retro pieces; they’re remixes, and each has the progressive, forward-looking aesthetic emblematic of MAAP apparel.
With all three options released, voting will be open from July 3-24, with the winner announced on the TCP podcast on the day the 2022 Tour de France rolls on to the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
The winning design in MAAP’s signature Pro Fit will immediately go into production once voting closes. Then the jersey and accompanying accessories – cap, bottle, socks – will be available to the general public later in 2022.
Every person who votes during the Tour de France will also be entered into a raffle to win one of four complete sets of the MAAP x TCP range, including the eventual winning jersey.
