Scheduled for May 28th, the second edition of the Titanium Challenge is set for 2022. Billed as an ‘unconventional triathlon’, in the heart of Tuscany, the route takes in the sea of Viareggio, to the walls of Lucca, and back.
Unlike other triathlon challenges where the disciplines of swim, bike, run are sequential, the Titanium Challenge features:
- Departing from Montecatini – bike – 65K
- Arrival in Viareggio – road running – 2.1K
- Beach access – running on the sand – 2.1K
- Entry into the water – swim – 2K
- Exit the water – depart from Viareggio – bike – 27.45K
- Arrival in Lucca – running on the walls around Lucca – 31K (8 laps)
- Departing from Lucca – bike – 37.55K
- Arrival and finish in Montecatini
The organisers note that the challenge has such varied characteristics that there is no strategy to be employed as in conventional triathlon. Each discipline is repeated a number of times, helping to mix things up and keep the competition interesting.
For the month of February a €220 promo price for individuals can be obtained by inserting the code ‘daddo10’ during registration. Group entries get one free ticket for every five members of the same group booking.
