Taking place in the Dauphiné region in south-eastern France, this year’s Critérium du Dauphiné unfolds between June 5-12, around three weeks prior to the Tour de France.
Aside from supplying the classification leader jerseys for the stage race, Santini is also paying homage to the event with a special kit inspired by the mountainous landscape of the Dauphiné.
The company notes that.. ‘A stylised outline of the peaks and valleys traversed by the race will feature on the various items in the collection.’
“We chose blue and yellow in a nod to the overall leader jersey,” said Santini’s Creative Director Fergus Niland. “The jersey is yellow with a blue stripe in the centre, so we did the opposite with our kit which has a blue background with yellow details.”
The collection comprises a jersey, vest, bib-shorts, baselayer and accessories.
Both the front and back of the classic cut short sleeve jersey are made from the company’s Race fabric, while the sides are mesh and the sleeves raw cut. The jersey and the coordinating bibshorts also have reflective detailing for visibility on the road.
Made from a fabric that exerts gentle compression and including a gel GITevo chamois pad to gradually absorb impacts, the bibshorts offer comfort on long rides. A range of accessories complete the look: baselayer, cap, gloves and socks.
The Critérium du Dauphiné collection falls under the agreement reached between Santini and A.S.O. to further extend a partnership deal that includes the supply of the leader jerseys for both the Critérium du Dauphiné and Tour de France, as well as the capsule collections for all of the other races on the A.S.O. circuit.
