Spread across three continents, registration for the HERO Series will open on 15 February 2022. This international mountain bike circuit consists of three races in Italy, the UAE and Thailand.
The first event, HERO Südtirol Dolomites on 18 June 2022, is billed as the toughest mountain bike marathon in the world. HERO Dubai Hatta is set for 5 November 2022, with HERO Thailand on 12 November 2022.
HERO Südtirol Dolomites boasts two routes, featuring 86km distance and 4,500m elevation, and 60km and 3,200m. The race enables riders to explore the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on their mountain bikes.
Now in its third edition, HERO Dubai Hatta features a 60km and 1,600m option, and a 30km and 800m alternative. Both routes are set in the Hatta MTB Trail Centre, the go-to destination for outdoor sports in Dubai.
HERO Thailand is based in Chiang Rai, a beloved tourist destination known for its White Temple in Wat Rong Khun. There is a 65km route with 1,200m elevation, and a 30km option with 600m.
Gerhard Vanzi, founder of the HERO World Series circuit, said “These are still uncertain times. However, we’re facing the next months with optimism and grit. How could we not be optimistic? We owe it to all the athletes who have been at our side since the start as well as to the entire team in charge of organising the event.

Without them, the event could never have dreamt of achieving the success it has with every successive edition. We’re all part of the same, big community, coming together to celebrate one big passion.”
Vanzi added “We’ll do our utmost to ensure all races take place while also protecting every participant, athlete, and whoever accompanies them, as we did last year. Their health and safety will always be our number one priority.”
