LimeLight Sports Club has partnered with UN Women UK and Stylist Strong Women ahead of the ASICS London 10K, taking place this year on July 10th. The partnership will establish… ‘A solidarity campaign inviting people to take to the streets of London to run for safety, for change and for freedom.’
Supporters of the campaign will run alongside thousands of others through the streets of Westminster for the only closed-road 10K in London this summer. The team will run past the Houses of Parliament to call for public spaces to be safer and more inclusive for all.
Funds raised will go towards delivering educational programmes. These seek to inspire behavioural change through a partnership with the UN Women UK’s Safe Spaces Now initiative.
Launched by UN Women UK in 2020, the aim of the Safe Spaces Now initiative is to make the design of public spaces, and the behaviour within them, free from sexual harassment. In turn, solutions are being implemented by partners in public transport, festivals, nightlife, workplaces, educational institutions and online spaces.
“This partnership with UN Women UK and Stylist Strong Women will help to educate, raise awareness and empower our runners to feel safer whilst exercising outdoors,” said James Robinson, CEO at LimeLight Sports Club.
Limelight Sports Club will be donating £5 from the sale of each Stylist Strong Women x Safe Spaces Now ASICS London 10K ticket to the Safe Spaces Now initiative. Runners taking part will also be given the option to fundraise for the cause.
UN Women UK is aiming to train 10,000 people to prevent sexual harassment in public spaces this year. Funds raised will help the charity deliver training in schools, universities and local communities to tackle sexual harassment and abuse by improving understanding of consent and gender-based violence.

“This project will not only bring people together to reclaim the streets that they deserve to feel safe in a moment of protest against the status quo and celebration of a new era of focus, but it will gain the attention of decision-makers who together, we have the power to influence.
