The 2023 Gran Fondo World Championship, organised by Gran Fondo World Tour (GFWT) will be held in South Korea at the Giant Seorak Gran Fondo on May 19-20, 2023.
There is no qualification requirement for the event, and riders compete according to their age category. Age categories include Junior 16-18, Senior 18-39, Masters 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60+ for both men and women.
An overall ranking will crown the 2023 GFWT World Champion and a special custom world championship jersey. A time trial takes place the day before the 2023 Gran Fondo World Championship. Prize Money will also be on offer for world champions and the overall male female winner.
The Seorak Granfondo in South Korea originated in 2010, when only 10 riders took on 265km over seven hills to reach Sokcho. The event goes through the scenery of Mt Seorak and Mt Odae in Gangwon-do. It has been held on its current course since 2014, and now features around 5,000 riders. In 2018, Seorak Granfondo joined the Gran Fondo World Tour.
The 12th edition will be held in 2023 as the event was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
