Animotion, a sports agency from Belgium, is presenting ‘Taste of the Spring Classics’ on ROUVY – a series of five virtual races that correspond to five major European spring road racing events in Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
Five routes have been created, ranging between 30km and 40km, which, according to ROUVY, is an ideal distance for online races.

Apr 14 | Hell of the North
Apr 21 | La Doyenne
Three time zones will be available for Europe, USA and Asia. For Europe the races will start at 19:00 CET.
Each course will be available online for two years on ROUVY. These routes will be available to cycling enthusiasts who want to cycle ‘off-race’ at any time they like or who want to set up their own races with their friends or club. All listed courses are available via ROUVY’s HD videos and avatar platform.
The Real Spring Classics Challenge started on March 24 (lasting for one month), and requires completion of all five routes. The following prizes will be raffled among the registrants for the challenge:
- 1 x Tornado trainer
- 5 x cycling trips through the Spring Classics in 2023
- Vouchers on sport equipment
Also, over the five events, a ranking will be made with some prizes related to performance criteria. Men and women will ride together, but there will be separate rankings for each gender category.
The races will be live-streamed through a number of channels. The esports centre Barvatar in Ghent, Belgium ,will see participants in the studio, with live commentary and a different guest co-commentator for each race. This will all be done in front of a live audience.
The organization of the races will be done in collaboration between Animotion and the We Are Esports Agency.
