US apparel brand Janji expanding in Europe

Janji, the American running apparel and gear brand, is expanding in Europe starting with a UK launch.

Janji has built a following in the US for its mission to increase the access to clean water. The company gives 2% of proceeds from every purchase to i water projects. These water projects are in countries around the world and help to inspire Janji’s new product lines.

This season’s range is inspired by the American South West and designed by trial runner and artist Christian Gering.

The company notes that… ‘Janji was created by Mike and Dave, track and cross country collegiate teammates, who came up with the idea for Janji on the bus ride to a track & field Championship. Their goal was to create a running apparel brand that stood not for running fast or winning races, but for what they loved about the sport: using running to explore the world, connect with other people, and to create change.’

Janji, which means ‘a promise or declaration’ in Malay, notes that it believes water is a human right. It continues to spread this message and helps to ensure access to this critical resource for communities worldwide. Today, Janji running apparel is sold in over 400 retailers and the company has given nearly £350,000 to clean water causes through seasonal lines inspired by communities around the globe.

Max Whicher, Janji Distributor in the UK said “Janji Europe has launched! It’s really exciting to bring Janji to the UK, the company ethos and mission to deliver clean water around the world was immediately something that stood out for us.

“Alongside their mission, their standout products have won multiple awards in America and we felt the UK running market was missing out on this apparel.”

The brand has launched with its award winning range of running gear. Products in the range AFO seamless middle shorts, the Rainrunner Pack Jacket and the multipass sling bag.
