The 2024 edition of Mallorca 312 OK Mobility has hit capacity in record time. According to the event organising team, the popular Spanish cycling event sold its 8,000 registration bibs in just 6 minutes. This eclipses the previous record, when the 2023 event was sold out last October in 10 hours.
The record pace of sales for next year’s Mallorca 312, to be held on April 27, 2024, comes despite some issues experienced by the event. At this year’s event, held in April 2023, some riders’ race day experience was marred by a delayed start and severe overcrowding at feed stations.
The Mallorca 312 OK Mobility is scheduled to be held in Platja de Muro in Mallorca, Spain, next April, with the same field size of 8,000 cyclists as in 2023.
A release from the event organising team noted that… ‘By keeping this number, the organization can manage the event, have better control and guarantee that cyclists receive a more personalized attention.
‘For the 2024 edition, there are new additions such as more refreshment points and reinforcement for everyone during the race. A ‘digital marketplace’ has also been introduced through the official website of the event for the purchase and sale of bibs, in case someone cannot participate.
‘In addition, bib numbers will be checked throughout the race, and it will be emphasized that the use of the routes is exclusively reserved for participants as specified by the Directorate of Traffic Control. This last feature is the most important one since participants can enjoy a day of cycling with guaranteed safely, without worrying about vehicle traffic.’
The Mallorca 312 OK Mobility offers three different routes for participants traveling around the island of Mallorca. These routes are 312km, 225km and 167km.
As the 2024 event has now sold out, those who still wish to participate can sign up to a waitlist.
