Launched during the 2023 Giro d’Italia, Scicon Sports has unveiled its sports performance sunglass model – the Aeroscope.
According to the eyewear and accessories firm… ‘The Aeroscope entirely redefines adjustability, having been designed in partnership with professional cyclists and with great attention to detail. Tailoring your overall eyewear experience is key to performance without limits.’
One of the Aeroscope’s main features are the length-adjustable temple arms called Scala, which allow the wearer to find a preferred fit for any helmet retention system and head dimension.
Scicon adds that riders can.. ‘Effortlessly extend or retract the temple arms to set the length that suits your needs, ensuring maximum comfort and stability on your rides.’
The sunglasses also feature a Horizon Adapt mechanism, which is a height-adjustable nosepiece to help fine-tune the field of vision. Customisable by 5mm, with the push or pull of the Horizon Adapt nosepiece, each rider can adapt the position of the lens, helping to eliminatie glare and discomfort.
A VenteX funnel is located in the top centre of the lens and is strategically placed outside of eyesight range to protect a rider’s view from direct light. It mainly facilitates airflow to prevent fog build-up behind the lens and allows for lens replacement using the interchangeable lens system.
Designed specifically for cycling, the frame’s Pantoscopic tilt of 12° is claimed to be twice that of standard eyewear. This addition gives cyclists an optimal lens angle while wearing a helmet, reducing aerodynamic resistance and improving performance.
The SCN-PPTM UV400 lens blocks all light up to 400 NM, including UVA and UVB rays. It is coated with hydrophobic and oleophobic treatments to repel water, oil, and dirt.
With an RRP of €220 / £195 / $230 / A$340 / C$305, there are four frame options: Black Gloss, White Gloss, Crystal Gloss and Anthracite Gloss.
10 lens options are available: Multimirror Red, Multimirror Blue, Multimirror Bronze, Multimirror Silver, Photochromic Silver, Multimirror Green, Gradient Black, Green Trail, Pink, and Clear.
