Alistair and Jonny Brownlee join Nirvana ambassador program

Specialist travel agency, Nirvana, has announced Olympic medal-winning triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee as its triathlon ambassadors. The new relationship will also see Nirvana become Official Travel Partner for the Brownlee brothers.

Alistair and Jonny are two of triathlon’s most successful competitors, winning a combined five Olympic medals between them.

Nirvana adds that it is a long-term supporter of triathlon, having been involved in the sport for over 20 years, providing specialist travel and accommodation services across an expanding portfolio of international events, including IRONMAN, World Triathlon Series and PTO.

It established its brand ambassador programme two years ago. This is designed to share the experiences of top athletes in the sport across Nirvana’s media channels with regular motivational podcasts, blogs, social media posts, as well as providing input into Nirvana’s product development programme.

From February 2023, Nirvana will become the Brownlee brothers’ Official Travel Partner, providing specialised travel and accommodation services designed to integrate with their international event programme.

Nigel Morris at Nirvana said “We are thrilled to have Alistair and Jonny on board as ambassadors. As two of triathlon’s most successful competitors, Alistair and Jonny have used Nirvana’s services to travel to events across the world for over 10 years and it’s great that we can take this relationship even further.

“Their experience of the sport and getting to the event prepared and ready to compete is an invaluable insight for our customers as well as being key to our future product and service development.”

Jonny Brownlee plans to start his 2023 season at the Super League Triathlon Arena Games in Sursee, Switzerland on March 12th. Alastair will continue to focus on long course triathlon events this year.

Alistair Brownlee said “Having travelled with Nirvana for many years and worked with them as a key partner of British Triathlon, the World Series (WTCS) and now IRONMAN races, I’m excited to be formally working with a brand that understands the events and the requirements of the athletes who travel to compete.

“The team at Nirvana has always been there for me, if I’ve ever been stuck at the other side of the world, they are always at the end of the phone to make sure I get to where I need to.”

Jonny Brownlee said “It’s great to make our relationship with Nirvana official, they have always looked after me. It doesn’t matter if you are an elite athlete or a beginner, travelling to a race can be as daunting as taking part, particularly in a multi-sport event.

“Making sure that getting there is as stress free as possible is fundamental to ensuring you can do your best, whatever your ability.

Alistair and Jonny Brownlee are the first ambassadors announced for Nirvana’s 2023 event programme. The company adds that it is looking to enrol other ambassadors that… ‘reflect the diversity of international participants that travel to events with Nirvana.’
