MYLAPS claims carbon neutral status

Sports tech firm MYLAPS has announced a milestone, with the company noting that it is now a carbon neutral organization.

The event timing company with offices in The Netherlands, United States, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, and China started measuring its carbon emissions on a yearly basis and set targets for reducing the carbon footprint.

In addition to this, MYLAPS compensates for excess CO2 emissions through the Kantigan Mentaya Project, a reforestation project in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The company goal is to reach zero emissions by 2050, as stated in the Paris Agreement.

MYLAPS adds that it has taken decisive steps to minimize its environmental impact. Its products are built to last and can be used year after year, minimizing waste. Whether it’s a detection mat, ProChip or motorsports transponder, MYLAPS notest that its products are extremely durable. Meanwhile, for disposable products MYLAPS works with degradable materials.

“As the global market leader in sports timing, with innovation in our DNA, we have the responsibility and an ambition to contribute to a better world,” says Camiel Slaats, CEO at MYLAPS.

“Our partners can continue to rely on our high-quality products and services while knowing they support an eco-conscious business.”
