Pacific Northwest based running shoe start-up Vimazi opened its most recent funding round for US$1 million in preferred stock this week.
By engineering its shoes according to the pace of the runner, Vimazi’s pace-tuned technology claims to provide more shock absorption with less energy loss than other brands.
The initial product line of six pace-tuned road running shoes were originally unveiled at last November’s run industry trade show, The Running Event, in Austin, Texas.
Vimazi’s pace-tuned approach is claimed to be the first of its kind. The company adds that it uses patent-pending tech, backed by physics, to deliver optimized cushioning on impact and maximized propulsion efficiency during push-off for every runner.
Vimazi will begin shipping its products to US retailers and consumers today (February 8) from its Detroit, Michigan, distribution centre.
“We are tremendously excited to have reached this milestone and deliver on the promise of superior cushioning for better health and performance,” said Scott Tucker, CEO of Vimazi.
“The new funding round enables the company to continue the development and production of the product line which includes trail running and walking models.”
Vimazi investor and owner of the MUV Fitness chain of fitness clubs, Arthur Schwerzel, added “The current climate for running shoe brands with a better solution to shock absorption is incredibly favorable.”
The Vimazi Trail Z3 is the newest shoe in the brand’s portfolio. Tuned to the forces encountered on trails, for the pace zone 10:00 – 15:00 min/mile, the new trail shoe is slated for release in autumn/fall 2023.
The current Vimazi funding round is open to accredited investors with a US$50K minimum. Enquiries may be sent to invest[at]vimazi.com.
