Santini x IRONMAN range adds Kona and Nice World Championship capsule collections

Developed in collaboration with professional triathletes and launched in 2022, the Santini x IRONMAN collection this year will feature some new additions.

The Koa line joins the two already existing triathlon lines, Aahonoui and Ika Ika. Within the Aahonoui line, the Viper trisuit is also available in two new colour schemes. Santini has also released two lines dedicated to Kona and Nice respectively.

The Aahonoui line, named after the Hawaiian term for patience and perseverance, is made up of a cycling kit and a trisuit, available in both in men’s and women’s versions, created using lightweight, quick-drying fabrics with aerodynamic features.

For 2023, the Viper trisuit is making a return in two new colour schemes: a black version with light blue and blue details for men and a black version with pink and light blue details for women.

The Viper apparel was developed based on wind tunnel tests and features a combination of two fabrics to allow for optimal aerodynamics: Trophy is lightweight, breathable and quick-drying, while Swan Warp is for the sleeves.

The outside of the pad is finished with grippy fabric to help maintain a stable position on the saddle. The Viper trisuit is equipped with an IMG pad, specifically designed for triathlons, which is created using Tower Gel by Nicolini. This unique material is made up of small ‘towers’, which are taller around the ischial bone and shorter towards the edges of the pad, allowing for better shock absorption.

Weighing just 52g, the pad is lightweight, thin, flexible and quick drying. Santini adds that it does not absorb water and offers greater breathability compared to a normal gel pad.

RRP men’s trisuit: €280 / £260 / US$380
RRP women’s trisuit: €270 / £250 / US$365

New Koa line
In the Hawaiian language, Koa means courage and audacity. The new Koa line’s bold colours and designs aim to reflect the resilient spirit of triathletes. The men’s trisuit features a blue and green design on a black background, while the women’s version combines navy blue with purple and fuchsia.

The sleek fit trisuits are designed for long distances, featuring short sleeves, mesh over the hips for comfort and breathability, and an IMG pad, specifically designed for triathlon.

RRP men’s trisuit: €180 / £165 / US$245
RRP women’s trisuit: €170 / £155 / US$230

Kona and Nice apparel
Santini has also launched two new capsule collections: one for the women’s IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, while the other is dedicated to the men’s IRONMAN World Championship in Nice. From a technical point of view, the trisuits include similar features to the Viper in the Aahonoui line.

The Kona line includes two trisuits and two baselayers, for men and women, and a cycling jersey. The garments give a nod to nature, capturing the colours of the Hawaiian island, ranging from blue to purple and from green to fuchsia and orange.

The Nice line includes a trisuit, a baselayer and a jersey in navy blue with a blue and white striped pattern on the right sleeve, and ‘Nice’ written in the colours of the French flag (men’s version only).

RRP trisuit: €280 / £260 / US$380
RRP jersey: €100 / £90 / US$115
RRP baselayer: €30 / £28 / US$35
