Established over 25 years ago, November 2022 saw British-based outdoor accessories brand Sealskinz begin a new chapter in its history with the purchase of the brand by Ray Kelvin, founder and former CEO of fashion firm Ted Baker.
Kelvin, who is a keen fly fisher and outdoorsman, aims to introduce Sealskinz to a wider audience… ‘from the everyday explorer to committed outdoors enthusiasts, whose favoured pursuits require tech-forward products that can withstand any weather.’
This summer sees the launch of the brand’s first-ever apparel collection: the Vitae collection. Showcasing contemporary clothing and accessories designed with functionality at its core, the company adds that Vitae offers fans of the outdoors adventure-ready apparel, designed for urban environments.
The range features accessories, including waterproof hats such as the Lynford Women’s Waterproof Canvas Bucket Hat and Salle – a men’s and women’s waterproof foldable peak cap, made with three-layer Aquasealz construction keep the wearer comfortable and dry.
Other products include: bamboo socks such as the Thwaites Men’s Bamboo Mid-Length Twisted sock. The Vitae collection apparel edit also includes pieces to support year-round adventuring, such as the summer-ready Yaxham Men’s Quick Dry Swim Short and Narford – Men’s Meteorological Protection Tee; and Knapton Men’s Water Repellent Hoodie, made with eco-friendly, soft organic cotton. Prices range from £18 – £125.
The Vitae collection marks a new development for Sealskinz. Offering an injection of colour to the heritage brand, the new collection sits alongside the existing core range of waterproof, technical products.
The Vitae collection includes pieces made from sustainable yarns such as bamboo and organic cotton; with items sent to customers in compostable packaging.
The new collection is now available for purchase through Sealskinz’s online store and select retail partners. The growing range will expand further in AW23 and SS24 with the brand set to offer a more diverse range of products, tailored to different sporting pursuits.
