Obstacle racing is building momentum in the Middle East with Tough Mudder Arabia confirming an eight-hour Infinity event in AlUla, an oasis city located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia.
Scheduled for February 24, 2024, the Infinity race format can be undertaken as an individual or in teams of two or four. Racing in Saudi Arabia takes place over eight hours, with participants taking on a multi-lap 10km loop that features 21+ obstacles.
Tough Mudder Infinity was originally launched in 2022. The eight-hour competition challenges participants to complete as many laps of a Tough Mudder course as they can, facing between 13-30 obstacles per lap.
Alongside the multi-lap Tough Mudder Infinity in Saudi Arabia, there will also be 5km (13+ obstacle) and 10km (21+ obstacle) Tough Mudder races on the same day. These are for new and returning athletes who prefer a single loop race, with the aim of providing a range of challenge suitable for participants of different fitness levels.
According to a report by Obstacle Racing Media… ‘This race is expected to feature a substantial prize pool, potentially making it one of the most significant in obstacle racing history.’
Prize money details are yet to be confirmed. Although ‘significant prize money’ is expected to be in the mix.
