27,000 visitors reported at TAIPEI CYCLE 2024

Held between March 6-9, 2024, TAIPEI CYCLE reported up to 4,000 international visitors from 80 countries attending the exhibition. The top five buyer countries were Japan, China (including Hong Kong), the USA, South Korea, and Singapore. Additionally, a total of 23,000 domestic Taiwanese industry attendees visited the exhibition.

TAIPEI CYCLE 2024 offered opportunities for attendees to engage with prominent international brands and supply chain companies. Reflecting the cycling industry’s commitment to sustainability, there was a special focus on four key themes: Micro Mobility, Green Action, Startup & Innovation and Cycling Culture and Lifestyle.

The Bike Venture program, initiated by TAIPEI CYCLE and Anchor Asia (Anchor Taiwan), aimed to harness Taiwan’s bicycle industry tradition and technological capabilities to foster an innovative ecosystem for the bicycle industry. The Bike Venture Zone showcased 10 selected start-ups from eight countries/regions.

Meanwhile, the Bike Venture Summit and Innovation Salon attracted over 30% of registrations from investors and technology industry executives, indicating some interest in cross-industry collaboration.

The exhibition introduced more diverse products, such as Norwegian brand reTyre, featuring its recyclable tyres. Japan’s National Cycle Route, promoted at the Japan Pavilion, indicated prospects for expanding cycling tourism options. The newly established E-cycling Pavilion attracted visitors through exhibitions, experiences, and lectures.

Bob Margevicius, Executive Vice President at Specialized, said “The show was full of energy. Seeing the amazing amount of innovation with a strong emphasis on ESG and sustainability was great. TAIPEI CYCLE always provides excellent networking opportunities with a wide, diverse, global selection of exhibitors showcasing a vast range of products and services. It was terrific to see so many young new start-ups featuring exciting new products.”

Sustainability was a major focus of TAIPEI CYCLE, with the Riding Towards Sustainability Forum held on the show’s second day, featuring speakers from Cycling Industries Europe, Rapha, Accell Group, and Bicycling Alliance for Sustainability (BAS), and attracting 172 industry professionals.

In 2025, TAIPEI CYCLE will be held from March 26-29 at TaiNEX Halls 1 and 2 in Taipei, Taiwan.
