Alé extends leader jersey tie-up with Giro Next Gen in Italy

For the sixth year in a row, Alé has confirmed its partnership with the Giro d’Italia U23 and signed an agreement with event organiser RCS Sport for the supply of the Giro Next Gen leader jerseys.

Running from June 9-16, 2024, the Giro Next Gen is positioned as the most important stage race for under 23 cyclists. It includes eight stages, with a total distance of 1,053km, more than 12,000m of elevation, and an average distance of 127km per stage.

This year the event will cross Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna. The event start will be in Aosta, while the finish will be in Forlimpopoli (Cesena).

Alé has designed the five jerseys of the classification leaders:

  • Pink jersey, leader of the general classification, it celebrates the National Day of Made in Italy
  • Red jersey, leader of the points classification, sponsored by Velux
  • Light blue jersey, leader of the KOM ranking, sponsored by Banca Mediolanum
  • White jersey, leader of the youth ranking, sponsored by Suzuki
  • Tricolour jersey, best Italian in the general classification, with the support of AIDO
  • The Giro Next Gen jerseys are part of Alé’s PR-R collection, the line that Alé dedicates to professional cycling. The Italian apparel specialist adds that… ‘Featuring cutting-edge cuts, fabrics and technologies, they are designed to offer athletes maximum performance, lightness, breathability and comfort.’

Alessia Piccolo, CEO of APG, parent company for the Alé brand, said “We have been partners of this race for six editions. For us, it is an essential appointment.

“Over time, the event has grown a lot and is becoming the benchmark, the appointment not to be missed for the under-23s. For Alé, supporting young people is a duty, as well as a source of pride: they are our heritage, they represent the future of this sport. We are and always will be at the side of the young promises of cycling.”

Matteo Mursia, Chief Revenue Manager of RCS Sport, added “Alé is a young but already internationally recognised brand. In its history of partnership it has consolidated a position and a reputation by encapsulating in its garments the quality of Made in Italy combined with a desire and ambition to grow.

“The partnership with the Giro Next Gen, also renewed in the second edition by RCS Sport, is based precisely on this. Youth and ambition. We will see at the start in Aosta many young people who will keep us company in the coming years in other RCS Sport races and we are happy that Alé Cycling has decided to bet once again on this event.”
