FESTKA, the Czech manufacturer of high-end carbon bicycle frames based in Prague, showcased a new bike at Bespoked, Europe’s largest handmade bicycle show, taking place at Dresden International Airport, Germany, from October 18-20, 2024.
The show, which celebrates the art of frame building, attracts over 7,000 visitors, including industry professionals, cycling enthusiasts, and media from around the world.
As a custom bicycle manufacturer located a relatively short distance from Dresden, Festka will introduce its all-new Spectre Gravel race bike and the new Spirit Design for its Spectre Road.
Speaking ahead of the show, Michael Moureček, FESTKA’s co-founder, said “Throughout the event, live demonstrations of frame lamination will take place at our booth, giving attendees a chance to observe one of the most intricate stages of our manufacturing process.
“Visitors will also have the opportunity to assemble a frame by placing individual tubes into a jig, as well as test a bike attached to a trainer equipped with tensometers, sensors we use to gather critical data for optimizing our frame tubes.”
According to FESTKA… ‘The Spectre Gravel is a race-ready gravel bike engineered for maximum speed and performance across a variety of terrains, from smooth asphalt to challenging mud.
‘Spectre Gravel provides an exceptionally enjoyable ride – smooth and free from rattles, delivering flawless performance even under the heaviest loads. With a wheel clearance of up to 40mm, this bike is built for those who demand speed without compromise while enjoying a fun and exhilarating ride.’
In addition, Festka will unveil the Spirit Design for Spectre Road, a fresh graphic design evolution of its Spectre Road series, combining cutting-edge aesthetics with race performance.
Festka has been making top-quality custom bicycles in Prague, Czech Republic, since 2010. It is known for cooperating with institutions such as the European Space Agency and the Czech Technical University.
The firm was founded by former pro cyclist Michael Moureček and his entrepreneur friend Ondřej Novotný. From the beginning, the creative side of things for the company has been the domain of designer Tomáš Hnida.
Up to 90% of the company’s production is exported, with 80% of exports heading outside the EU to Asia (China, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines) and the USA.
