Free registration for international riders at Giant Sorak Granfondo, thanks to Visit Korea

Visit Korea and Gran Fondo World Tour (GFWT) have confirmed free registration for international riders to the Giant Sorak Granfondo set for May 18, 2024.

With the support of the Visit Korea Tourism Board, international riders will receive free entry to the event, which offers up a tour of Seoraksan National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve known for its diverse ecosystem.

The first Seorak Granfondo in South Korea began on June 5, 2010, when 10 enthusiastic Korean riders set off from the eastern foot of Baekbokryeong in Gangwon Province. The route saw riders crossing seven hills, and riding 265km to reach Sokcho.

The event’s scenic route takes in the landscapes of Gangwon Province’s Seoraksan and Odaesan regions. The 2024 Seorak Granfondo features a challenging course with five major hills, totalling 208km with 3,700m elevation gain. The last segment crossing Guryongryeong in reverse (from east to west) involves a gruelling 20km climb, classified as a hors catégorie (HC) grade.
