A packed weekend of racing is set to take place in the Madison, Wisconsin, with the return of the IRONMAN 70.3 Wisconsin and IRONMAN Wisconsin triathlons, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, held on September 7-8, 2024.
Saturday, September 7 is race day for IRONMAN 70.3 Wisconsin with the race start at 07:00 local time. Saturday also has the IRONKIDS Wisconsin Fun Run, which gets under way at 17:00.
IRONMAN Wisconsin is held on Sunday, September 8, with a 07:00 swim start. The first finisher is expected at around 15:30, with the race cut-off 17 hours after the last athlete enters the water.
The midwestern triathlons offer athletes race experiences through Madison and its surrounding areas. With swims taking place in Lake Monona, athletes will run up the helix towards the transition area at Madison’s Monona Terrace before undertaking bike courses through Dane County’s rolling hills and dairy land.
Athletes will cap off their race days with run courses taking them along the lakesides, through the University of Wisconsin’s campus, into the Camp Randall Stadium, and culminating in a finish in front of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building.
The 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Wisconsin will offer age group qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship taking place on November 8-9, 2024, in Marbella, Spain.
The 2023 IRONMAN Wisconsin will offer age group qualifying slots to the 2025 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship, with women racing in Nice, France, on September 24 and men racing in Kona, Hawai`i, on October 26, 2024.
