Open-ear headphones specialist Shokz has launched a co-branded edition of its OpenRun Pro 2 headphones, created in partnership with elite marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest marathon runners ever, Kipchoge is a double Olympic Gold Medallist, and in 2019, became the first person ever to run a sub-two-hour marathon.
The newest offering from Shokz and Kipchoge has ‘NN Running Team’ engraved on the headphones along with its logo. It also features a grey and orange colourway, again drawing inspiration from the colours of Kipchoge’s NN Running Team.
Kipchoge said “Music motivates me. Sometimes running is hard and you feel tired. With music, you can enjoy it and forget you’re running. I’m sure these new Shokz headphones will encourage all athletes and enjoy music in the same way I do.”
Retaining all of the features from Shokz’ recently launched OpenRun Pro 2, the co-branded-edition is limited to 25,000 units worldwide and its price is £169.
Featuring DualPitch technology, Shokz adds that… ‘The headphone has a perfect duet between a bone conduction and air conduction speakers, of which the former handles mids and highs with total precision, while the latter releases controlled, subterranean bass.’
The OpenRun Pro 2 boasts an impressive battery life, where users can enjoy up to 12 hours of music playback. The larger battery, coupled with dual smart drivers assigned specific roles, improves battery life while also reducing power consumption. With Quick Charge, a 5-minute power boost gives 2.5 hours of playtime.
In addition, a waterproof USB-C port lets users charge up with ease, whether using the included cable or their own. Dual protective layers and a secure charging port cover form a barrier against water.
Leon Du, Europe Market Director at Shokz, said “The OpenRun Pro 2 is our flagship product and it’s a privilege to launch this new product with the marathon legend, Eliud Kipchoge.
“We know how much running means to Eliud and we’re delighted we can enhance his running experience. We hope our latest launch can inspire more people to get out and enjoy running too.”
