T100 Triathlon World Tour to debut on Australia’s Gold Coast in 2026

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has confirmed that the Gold Coast, Queensland, will host a T100 Triathlon World Tour event from 2026, following a new long-term partnership with Events Management Queensland (EMQ).

The inaugural Gold Coast T100 is scheduled for the weekend of March 21–22, 2026. The pro race will feature a swim off Surfers Paradise Beach, with bike and run legs on coastal city streets including the Esplanade. The weekend will also include amateur Sprint and 100km triathlons, a 10km run, and the new National Club Championships in partnership with AusTriathlon.

Queensland joins a high-profile roster of T100 destinations including Singapore, San Francisco, London, Lake Las Vegas, Vancouver, Dubai and Qatar.

PTO CEO Sam Renouf said “Australia is always one of the top requested locations from our athletes and fans. We’re excited to bring the T100 here and help grow the sport’s visibility ahead of the 2032 Olympics.”

EMQ Chairman Paul Donovan called the T100 a “prestigious addition” to the city’s major events calendar, while CEO Ben Mannion noted the opportunity for young athletes to be inspired by professionals racing on home soil.

The event is also being backed by Queensland’s Minister for Tourism, Andrew Powell, and City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, who both highlighted the region’s sporting reputation and international appeal.

World Triathlon President Antonio F. Arimany described the announcement as “a significant moment” and further evidence of Australia’s emergence as a global triathlon hub. He added that the partnership with PTO continues to strengthen ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Games.

The 2025 T100 Tour began earlier this month in Singapore, where Kate Waugh (GBR) and Hayden Wilde (NZL) took early wins. The series continues on May 31 with the San Francisco leg, as part of the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon event weekend.
