Co-founded by two-time Olympic Gold Medallist in triathlon, Alistair Brownlee, nutrition brand truefuels has released a line of electrolytes, the truefuels Active Hydration Mix.
The launch builds on the previous release of the brand’s energy gels. Co-Founded by Brownlee and Goran Vasiljevic, truefuels states a commitment to creating simple racing & training nutrition.
The new electrolyte formula is made with natural ingredients designed to optimise hydration, support endurance, and minimise gastrointestinal distress during training and competition.
Each sachet combines balanced electrolytes and natural components for functionality. Ingredients include:
- Coconut Water Powder – provides natural electrolytes and subtle flavour without added sugar
- Himalayan Rock Salt – for maintaining plasma volume and preventing hyponatremia
- Potassium Citrate and Magnesium Citrate – support neuromuscular function and reduce cramp risk
- Citric Acid and Mineral Salts – help maintain acid-base balance during prolonged exertion.
- Stevia (Steviol Glycosides) – ‘natural sweetness’ without glucose or maltodextrin, aiding gut comfort during long sessions.
The electrolytes are available in two flavours: Natural Mint and Natural Watermelon. Brownlee and a team of fellow athletes selected these flavours following months of testing various ingredient and flavour profiles.

The truefuels product line-up now consists of two gel formulas and electrolytes in two flavours. The products were tested by Brownlee, Vasiljevic, and a team of triathletes to ensure suitability across a variety of athlete groups and maximum comfort during exercise.
Usage Recommendations:
- Pre-Exercise (30–60 min prior): 1 stick in 500–600ml water to ensure optimal hydration and salt loading
- During Exercise: 1–2 sticks in 500–700ml water (using the higher end if sweating heavily or in hot conditions)
- Post-Exercise Recovery: 1 stick in 400–500ml water within 30 minutes to accelerate electrolyte restoration
