Cal Tri Events has announced the acquisition of the Lake Havasu Triathlon, one of the southwest USA’s most established multisport events.
Held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, the race will be officially rebranded as Cal Tri Lake Havasu, marking another key milestone in Cal Tri’s mission… ‘to make triathlon more safe, affordable & accessible.’
Founded over 40 years ago and held annually in the city of Lake Havasu, Arizona, the Lake Havasu Triathlon has been a bucket-list race for athletes across the west for a number of years. Known for its warm waters, London Bridge backdrop, and challenging yet scenic course, the event has served as a rite of passage for athletes young and old.
“Lake Havasu is one of the classic venues in American triathlon history,” said Thom Richmond, CEO of Cal Tri Events.
“We are looking forward to kicking off the 2026 season in Arizona, which now gives our community race options in all four major US time zones. As with all Cal Tri races, athletes can look forward to a fun, friendly, and professionally managed experience in one of the most unique racing destinations in the country.”
Cal Tri Events athletes have up to 18 race options including triathlon, runbikerun, swimbike, swimrun, swim & run at both the sprint & Olympic distances paired with a number of consumer friendly. Cal Tri Lake Havasu 2026 is included in Cal Tri Events’ US$85 all-in early bird pricing promotion which takes place from August 5th.
Cal Tri Events is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation and ‘the largest national short-course triathlon series in the US’. Its mission is to provide safe, affordable, and accessible triathlon experiences that make a difference in the communities served.
Cal Tri Events includes US$85 all-in early bird pricing, free pre race swim clinics, free youth races (ages 7-17) as well as free race transfers, deferrals & participant transfers as late as the day before the race.
