CheckPointSpot, a race technology provider in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), has announced a new partnership with MYLAPS. The agreement will see CheckPointSpot deploy MYLAPS’ latest BibTag Smart Decoders across the region.
The company will be one of the first in the ASEAN region to roll out the new timing technology at scale.
Under the partnership, CheckPointSpot will use the new BibTag Smart Decoders, which reportedly offer enhanced read rates and real-time data processing. The technology will integrate with CheckPointSpot’s race management system.
According to a release, the new partnership will boost timing precision at major events, including the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon in 2025. It also supports CheckPointSpot’s expansion into Laos.

MYLAPS, founded in 1982, has developed automatic sports timing systems. Its BibTag System is used at many mass participation events worldwide. The new BibTag Smart Decoder was developed to make the lives of timers easier, with a lightweight, user-friendly interface.
The new decoders will enhance CheckPointSpot’s service capabilities for international events throughout the region, with the company having an established presence in Malaysia and Cambodia.
