Garmin introduces new Edge cycling computers and Rally power meters

Garmin has confirmed the launch of its new Edge 550 and 850 compact cycling computers, as well as the Rally 110 and 210 pedal-based power meters.

Edge 550 and 850 cycling computers
The Edge 550 and 850 feature a bright 2.7-inch display, improved battery life, and enhanced training features. Garmin said the computers have a battery life of up to 36 hours in battery saver mode and up to 12 hours with demanding use.

Features include custom nutrition and hydration alerts based on a rider’s fitness, a cycling ability feature that tracks a rider’s strengths and weaknesses, and real-time weather updates. The devices are compatible with free Garmin Cycling Coach training plans.

The Edge 850 adds a built-in speaker, a responsive touchscreen, Garmin Pay contactless payments, and an on-device course creator.

Both models also include safety features such as incident detection, which sends a message with the rider’s location to emergency contacts if an incident is detected. They are also compatible with Varia cameras and radars.

The Edge 550 has a suggested retail price of £379.99 in the UK, while the Edge 850 is available for £469.99.

Rally 110 and 210 power meters
The new Rally 110 and 210 pedal-based power meters are designed to give cyclists accurate power data and performance tracking. The single- and dual-sensing power meters can be swapped between road and off-road pedal bodies and from bike to bike.

A rechargeable battery offers up to 90 hours of ride time, with a 15-minute charge providing up to 12 hours of ride time. A new Pedal IQ smart calibration feature alerts riders when the pedals should be recalibrated.

The Rally 110 single-sensing pedals start at £549.99, while the Rally 210 dual-sensing pedals start at £929.99.
